This is for people like me, who dont like to wear makeup or spend time on it or even lazy to do. I believe that Natural look is always a divine beauty & it adds up your personality.
Many do layers of bright makeup which looks crazy at closer view. Some don’t wear makeup at all. For some people it’s necessary to look so in front of the cameras. Many believe that doing make up, builds confidence in themselves. Well, each have their own right to believe in how they want to look like or have their own preference to enrich their own confidence & personality. ‘What we feel is what we believe’. End of the day looking good & carrying ourselves with confidence is what matters.
After going through a long day of work, sleepless work nights in the weekday, we might have to attend a party in the weekend. But then we can’t go to a party wearing a dashing outfit with an oily face, dark circles, uneven skin tone etc. and we don’t want some person to come to us & ask as in “Are you all right? You look dull!…”. Huh… Our face reflects our body’s stress, aging, deficiencies etc., which is very normal & we can’t ignore.
I believe that our face should also look appropriate with our pretty dress. So why not spend 5 minutes? Oh yea, that’s the time I wish to spend on makeup. Seriously…
I am no expert but i thought, I will share my experience & the makeup tricks that personally I use.
Step 1: cleansing & moisturizing (1 Minute)
Cleansing is very important before you apply anything on your skin. This will remove the dirt & oil particles. Then apply the moisturizer. This helps the foundation to easily glide on your skin. I use an Ayurveda moisturizer daily from my childhood. It contains aloe Vera & it keeps my skin healthy. In between, I tried many other brands but I was not satisfied with the outcome. So, better chose what’s best for your skin.
Step 2: Primer (1 Minute)
Primer acts as the smooth base that holds your makeup for a long time.
How to apply: Pump a small amount of the primer to your hand and dab it gently onto your face, beginning under your eyes, around your nose, forehead, chin, nose, and cheeks. Don’t forget neck! I use the primer from Mary Kay. Its works well for me.
Step 3: Foundation (1 Minute)
How to choose the right shade: This is the tough part. You have to go through trial & error method to get the right one for you. Best way is to get samples from the shop & try it for yourself at home. If your face looks whitish than your rest of the body then it’s not your shade. Match the shade with your skin tone at jawline. Choose your right formula– Cream, Stick, Liquid or powder. Personally I don’t recommend powder. I feel that they don’t blend well or doesn’t look natural on the skin.
How to apply:
My fingers are the best brush for me. Sometimes I use the sponge/brush. It all depends on how much pressure you apply to blend them. So give a try on both & suit yourself. Always take a tiny amount into your hand. If using stick, you can apply directly on your face. Apply only as dots/small lines as shown in the picture & blend them gently all over your face & neck. Less is always more.
Use concealer, if you want to camouflage any scar, dark circles, blemishes that looks obvious. Dab onto the problem areas to shrink them.
Step 4: powder (30 seconds)
Dust your shade on the face, ears & neck with a puff to absorb oil and to keep cover-up from sliding off in midday.
Step-5: Eyes (1 Minute)
If you have small eyes then I suggest not to use eye liner. It will make your eyes look even smaller. If you have big eyes, use liner to make it look small. Use mascara if you like to. Trust me, It will add definition & lit up the charm of your eyes.
Step 6: Lips (30 seconds)
I usually apply the medicated lip balm first (just to prep) & then the lip color lipstick. Most of the time just a lip color gloss will do great!
If you follow all the above steps, it will not take more than 5-6 mins. You will get a hang of this, once you start doing it daily.
If I want to go even more lighter version, I follow the below 3 simple steps after cleansing:
1. Apply tinted moisturizer & sunscreen evenly.
2. Slightly Dust skin shade powder all over.
3. Lip gloss
Ta da…. Done…!
Tip : Wash off your makeup or any applied cosmetics before you go to bed. Saves the health of your skin!
